Through collaboration between Highland Council for the Deaf and SWCID, local deputies and officers came to SWCID campus to visit with students as part of Deaf Awareness Week. Members of the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, Howard County Detention Center, and the Big Spring Police Department ate lunch and visited with students to learn more about Deaf culture and working with the Deaf community. The students took this opportunity to thank them for their service.
