Dual Credit Enrollment Checklist
- Visit with your high school counselor to determine if you are eligible. Students must have permission in writing from their high school principal and counselor, permission from the student’s parent/guardian, and must present an official high school transcript. Review the Dual Credit Student Handbook.
- Complete and submit an online dual credit application for admissions at www.goapplytexas.org or see your high school counselor for an application. During the online application process, the applicant must designate which college they are applying for by entering the Howard College “School Code” which is 003574.
- Students must satisfy Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA ) requirements prior to enrolling in college-level coursework. All students who do not meet the exempt requirements must take the TSI Assessment test in Math and/or Reading and Writing.

- Create your student EAB Account https://howardcollege.navigate.eab.com/app/#/authentication/remote/
- Submit a copy of immunization records showing that the student has received the Bacterial Meningitis vaccine within the last 5 years if you will be attending classes on a Howard College Campus.
- Complete and submit the Enrollment Packet/Registration Packet to your high school counselor.
- Request high school transcript and all testing scores to be sent to Howard College. Contact your high school counselor.
- Complete and submit the Schedule Card with a list of courses planned to attend for the semester. Contact your high school counselor.
- Pay for courses. Contact your high school Counselor or Howard College
Tips to be a Successful Dual Credit Student
- Howard College’s official method of communication is the Howard College email address. Make sure you have access to email and can log in to HC before the first day of classes.
- Utilize Howard College resources.
- Communication is important.
- Email your instructor or high school counselor for assistance.
- Please read and print the syllabus and calendar to become familiar with the class and important deadlines.
- Schedule Time for Studying
- Create a study routine and at least 3 hours per week.
