The Student Government Association (SGA) promotes school spirit, provides an understanding of student problems and acts as an intermediary between students, the faculty, and the administration. We are the voice of the student body.

We play an active role on campus as well as the community, acting as an ambassador for Howard College. We participate in student activities and events such as “WOW” Week of Welcome, New Student Orientation, Student Appreciation, Student Forum, Field Day, and Graduation. We attend Community College Day in Austin (every 2 years) to represent our school along with other community colleges throughout the state of Texas.  We also participate in monthly community service activities like volunteering at the soup kitchen, preparing and hiding 10,000 Easter Eggs for the Boys and Girls Club of San Angelo, food and book drives, and park clean-up days.

SGA officers traditionally serve for two semesters and receive a scholarship each semester. They must meet GPA requirements and be active in group meetings and activities to remain in good standing with SGA.
