Awarded to a deserving Forsan High School graduate who demonstrates outstanding leadership and good moral character

ADRIAN AND MARY RANDLE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established to assist worthy Howard County students with an interest in agriculture.

ALBERT AND KATHERINE McNALLEN SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to a student graduating from a high school in Howard County, and interested in the performing arts program.

ALICE B. HAYNES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist students enrolled (or accepted) in the Dental Hygiene program.

ALICE HAYNES BIG SPRING ROTARY CLUB DENTAL HYGIENE SCHOLARSHIP
Established to aid worthy students who demonstrate financial need. Must be a second year Dental Hygiene student.

ANN GARRETT TURNER SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist students with the cost of residential hall living.

ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships of various amounts are available through individual arts departments to aid students interested in majoring in art, dance, music, or theater. Contact the appropriate department for further information.

ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are available in men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, rodeo, and softball. The student should apply directly to the coach in the individual athletic area.

BIG SPRING ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Scholarships are available to Big Spring area graduates interested in the field of athletic training.

BIG SPRING HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF ’65 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to a graduating senior at Big Spring High School. Preference is given to students whose relative is a member of the BSHS class of 1965.

CARRIE CARNAHAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist a deserving graduating senior of Coahoma High School majoring in nursing at Howard College.

C.D. and RUBY HELEN TURNER MEMORIAL FUND
Students must be enrolled at least part-time on the Howard College campus and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Preference will be given to the Howard College service area students

DIANA CURRIE NICHOLS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to assist a student accepted into the nursing program at Howard College-Big Spring campus.

DORA ROBERTS DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarship are available to students interested in completing a certificate or an associate degree at Howard College. Students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

DORA ROBERTS HONORS SCHOLARSHIP
Given annually to the top 10% scholastic graduates in the area high schools as certified by the high school principals. These awards are to be used for the first two semesters immediately after high school graduation. Presentation of awards is made at end-of-year high school assemblies and graduation exercises.

DORA ROBERTS INTRAMURALS
Given to selected students based on interview and application. Student must contact the Director of Student Activities for tryout information.

DOROTHY GARRETT LVN SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist a worthy Howard County resident interested in a career in Licensed Vocational Nursing.

ETLD SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist a deserving student who demonstrates the potential to achieve college and career goals. Preference given to graduates of Big Spring or Forsan, majoring in English, History, or Political Science.

EVERETT BLACKBURN ATHLETIC TRAINER SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship awarded annually to aid a student interested in athletic training or sports medicine.

FLORENCE READ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist worthy Howard County students interested in agriculture.

HOWARD COLLEGE CHEERLEADERS
Given to selected students based on grade point average and audition. Students must contact Cheerleading Coach for tryout information.

HOWARD COLLEGE DIPLOMATS
Scholarships available on the Big Spring, San Angelo, and SWCID campuses. Awarded to selected students based on interview and participation in academic and extra-curricular activities.

HOWARD COUNTY GRADUATES SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to Howard County graduating seniors who are ranked 3rd in their class.

HOWARD COLLEGE JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIP
Given to students enrolled full-time on the Howard College-Big Spring campus and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Must submit 3 examples of previous work in a journalism related effort.

JACK BARBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to aid worthy and needy baseball athletes with outstanding leadership and academic ability.

J.D. and MATTIE MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist deserving Howard County high school graduates who demonstrate academic achievement and good moral character. Students must have graduated within the past two years. Preference given to Coahoma High School graduates.

JEB WORTHY NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist deserving students accepted into the Howard College vocational or registered nursing program.

JOHN BAYNE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist worthy students majoring in the field of psychology.

JOHN STOWERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to a deserving Howard County resident majoring in Law Enforcement at Howard College-Big Spring campus.

JONNY JOHANSEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Sponsored by the Big Spring Council of Garden Clubs to be awarded to an Agriculture/Plant Science major.

J.T. AND DOROTHY CLEMENTS SCHOLARSHIP
Student must be enrolled full-time on the HC campus majoring in an academic degree plan and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

KEATING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to Howard County High School seniors selected by faculty and administration at each school.

KRILL OIL SCHOLARSHIP
Everest Nutrition’s Krill Oil will be giving $1,000 to two students, pursuing further education beyond a high school level, as part of the ‘Krill Oil - Educate Your Heart’ program.

Established to assist Howard College students with childcare at Howard Cottage.

MARTHA SLAGLE YOUNGMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR NURSING
Established to assist a deserving student accepted or enrolled in the Accelerated RN program at Howard College.

MARY JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP
Student must demonstrate good moral character. Must be enrolled full-time on the Howard College-Big Spring campus and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to graduates from a Mitchell County High School. (Colorado City, Loraine, Westbrook)

MOVELDA RHINE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to a Big Spring campus student pursuing an Associate Degree in Business.

PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are available to students who wish to participate in various performing groups. These scholarships include art, band, choir, dance, Livestock Judging Team, and theater. Students MUST indicate which scholarship they are applying for on the application.

P.W. MALONE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Student must be enrolled full-time on the HC or SWCID campuses and must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Student will be supported for two years if all criteria are met.

RED AND ROBBIE LEWIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established to aid students with high potential in the field of math/science. Must be a full-time student to be eligible for consideration.

ROB ETHRIDGE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to a deserving Coahoma High School Graduate who demonstrates outstanding leadership and good moral character.

ROBERT DUNCAN HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP

ROBERT HUIBREGTSE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist a worthy student majoring in math or science.

SCOTT AND GINGER GRIFFIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Student must be enrolled full-time on Howard College campus and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Student must be disabled or the parent of a disabled child as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

TATIA COLVIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist a worthy student graduating from Big Spring High School and studying theater at Howard College.

TROY HOGUE LAW ENFORCEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Established to aid students majoring in law enforcement. Must demonstrate good academic achievement and good moral character.

VALEDICTORY/SALUTATORIAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Howard College Board of Trustees offers tuition scholarships to each student certified to be valedictorian of a graduating class of an accredited high school in Texas. This scholarship must be claimed for the Fall semester following Spring graduation from high school. In order to be eligible for the valedictory scholarship, the applicant’s name must be on file with the Texas Education Agency, Austin, Texas. Scholarships for $600 per year are offered to each student certified to be salutatorian of a graduating class at an accredited high school in Texas.

W.B. HARDY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to a deserving vocational/technical degree student with good moral character and ability to achieve college and career goals.

WENDELL LAWRENCE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established to aid worthy and needy Howard County students with outstanding leadership and academic ability. Must be a full-time student.

WOODMEN OF THE WORLD SCHOLARSHIP
Established to assist deserving students attending the Howard College-Big Spring campus. Preference is given to students whose relative(s) are members of the fraternal organization.

ZULA RHODES 4-H and AG SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually to a deserving student majoring in agriculture.

BEVERLY BUCHANAN SCHOLARSHIP 
The Beverly Buchanan Scholarship is awarded to an international student currently enrolled at SWCID with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The recipient will receive the $600.00 scholarship for the 2014-2015 school year.

DR. P.W. MALONE SCHOLARSHIP
The Dr. P.W. Malone Scholarship is awarded to a full-time SWCID student. The student must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and agree to conduct themselves in a manner acceptable to the community and abide by the rules and regulations of SWCID. The recipient will be supported for the equivalent of a two-year degree or certificate at SWCID, if all criteria are met. This scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student in the amount of $1,000.00 for the 2014-2015 school year.

JESSIE LEE WALTERS, JR. SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Jessie Lee Walters, Jr. Scholarship Fund is awarded to a full-time SWCID student.  To be eligible, the student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and agree to conduct themselves in a manner acceptable to the community and abide by the rules and regulations of SWCID.  The recipient will be supported for the equivalent of a two-year degree or certificate at SWCID, if all criteria are met.  Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree or certificate that is artistic in nature (such as Graphic Design or another Fine Arts program.)  The scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student in the amount of $300.00 for the 2014-2015 school year.  

PHILLIP WALDRUP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Phillip Waldrup Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded to a full-time SWCID student.  To be eligible, the student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and agree to conduct themselves in a manner acceptable to the community and abide by the rules and regulations of SWCID.  The recipient will be supported for the equivalent of a two-year degree or certificate at SWCID, if all criteria are met.  Preference will be given to students majoring in Computer Information Systems/Office Technology.  The scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student in the amount of $600.00 for the 2014-2015 school year.

SHERRIE BAIRD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Sherrie Baird Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a full-time (12 credit hours or more) deaf or hearing student who exhibits good moral character and motivation to complete college and career goals. To be eligible, the student must have a minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 and is a Texas resident. 20 hours of community service (10 hours each semester) is required. The scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student in the amount of $600.00 for the 2014-2015 school year.

SWCID GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

SWCID General Scholarships are awarded to qualified students for the Fall and Spring semesters. The scholarship amount varies depending on the amount of funding available and the number of scholarships to be awarded to those qualified.

SWCID FEST SCHOLARSHIP
The SWCID Fest Scholarship is awarded to an incoming full-time SWCID freshman student who exhibits good moral character and motivation to complete college and career goals and demonstrates financial need. The scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student in the amount of $600.00 for the 2014-2015 school year.
